The femur
is the longest, strongest and heaviest bone in the body. It is also
called the thighbone, upper bone of the leg,
The head of the femur forms a ball-and-socket joint with the hip (at
the acetabulum), being held in place by ligament (ligamentum teres femoris)
within.
This patient's fracture
of the neck of femur was treated unsuccessfully. The case was referred
to Mr Al-Haddad for revision. The patient was then treated successfully
by correction osteotomy and angled blade plate and screws. See X-rays.
