Mosaic Plasty

This first clip shows the area of damage/defect on the femoral condyle of a patient with knee arthritis. Clip

The defective area of the femoral condyle is prepared to receive the autograft from the patient own knee. Clip

A cylinder of the patient's own cartilage with underlying bone is removed from the femoral condyle where the articular cartilage is not badly needed. Clip

These are four bone cylinders with articular cartilage (white top) removed from the patient knee. Clip

Exact size holes are drilled in the defective area of the knee to receive the cylindrical autografts. Clip

The autografts are inserted in the defective area. Clip
